On Sunday the 5th September 2021, the 14th Workshop „Be-greifbare Interaktion“ is going to take place as an online workshop as part of the „Mensch und Computer“ conference (MuC). The workshop will take place between 9:00 and 16:30, followed by the official „Fachgruppensitzung“ of the GI thematic group „Be-greifbare Interaktion“ (Tangible Interaction).
Wir cordially invite you to join the workshop. To do so, please register on the MuC conference. Please select the workshop „Be-greifbare Interaktion“ when registering for the conference. Everyone who is interested is welcome to join the workshop.
The workshop proceedings are available in the Digital Library of the „Gesellschaft für Informatik“.
We are very proud to announce Stefano Parisi as our keynote speaker, with a talk on Sustainable Material Design. The talk will cover research topics such as Hybrid Material Systems, i.e., material-based systems combining inactive materials, smart material components, and embedded sensing, computing, and actuating technologies, and Materials Experience which describes a holistic view of materials for design, emphasizing the role of materials as simultaneously technical and experiential.
Further, we will offer two hands-on studios in the context of the workshop, which will offer the possibility to get in touch and exchange with fellow researchers and practitioners:
Tangible Interaction in Education is concerned with an exchange about experiences in the context of teaching. This includes brainstorming sessions on topics such as: „How to teach Tangible Interaction?“, „What to teach about Tangible Interaction?“, and „What to teach with the help of TUIs?“.
Movement and Flexible Materials in Data Physicalization includes a theoretical and practical exploration of the topic. This studio will explore paper and agar as prototyping materials. (If you attend the workshop please buy regular agar in the grocery store to participate in the experiments)
We will use the following tools to run the workshop: gather.town (please make sure to use chrome or firefox) and Discord. Please use your real names in both cases and activate your webcams, so that we can have a welcoming workshop experience.
